"Down in the town by the butcher's shop door, sat Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy" Hairy Maclary, the cheekiest dog in town, is waiting for a tasty bone from the butcher. He trots off home with his prize, planning on devouring it in private. But he reckons without the procession of his friends, from Bottomley Potts who's covered in spots to Schnitzel von Krumm with very low tum. But Hairy Maclary takes them on such a circuitous route that one by one he loses them, until he's alone at last to go home with all of his bone.

Scarface Claw, the biggest cat in the neighbourhood, is out exploring when he gets stuck up a tree. The noise is terrible - so terrible that it draws Hairy Maclary and all his friends from Donaldson's Dairy to investigate. This title is suitable for young children.

"Sniffles and snuffles and doses of flu - itches and stitches and tummyache too ..." Hairy Maclary is waiting to see the vet with lots of other pets. Then something happens to turn the waiting room into a kerfuffling scramble of paws, a tangle of bodies and a jumble of jaws ...what can be the matter?

"In Riverside Hall on Cabbage Tree Row, the Cat Club were having their Annual Show ..." When Hairy Maclary bounces and pounces his way into the cat show, his flustering and blustering bring a very unexpected result.

Hairy Maclary, everyone's favourite dog, is busy chasing and hustling all the neighbourhood cats from Slinky Malinki to Pimpernel Pugh. But when he comes face to face with Scarface Claw, the toughest tomcat in town, it's Hairy Maclary's turn to be bustled, rustled and hustled.
